Join the Team to Join the Fight
Almost all of us have been touched by cancer in some way. With oral cancer on the rise, hygienists are seeing its affects in their offices more now than ever before. The dental community is the first line of defense in early detection of the disease. Considering how much of an impact cancer treatments have on the oral cavity, we've decided to make a difference by walking and raising money in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life event. Our team is taking action to help finish the fight. Please join the RDHS team or make a donation, because saving lives from cancer starts with one team, one participant, and one dollar at a time. Register or donate today!
What is Relay For Life?
It's a 24-hour team event to fight cancer.
It is not a race -- its a community camp-out!
Money raised through the event supports the programs of the American Cancer Society.
Who can join the team?
Anyone. RDHS welcomes hygienists, dental professionals, and their friends and family. There is no minimum age to participate, however young children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
What does a teammember do?
Teammembers pay a $10 registration fee and gather donations from personal sponsors. There is no minimum amount to raise and your registration fee counts towards your efforts! Teams and/or individual members may fundraise during the event to raise additional funds.
Show up on Relay Day with your lawn chair! RDHS will provide tents for shelter but you are welcome to bring your own. Please bring a sleeping bag and pillow if you plan to camp-out.
Team members walk/run the track in shifts having at least one team member on the track for the full 24-hours.
Team members have FUN!
Team members enjoy food, entertainment, activities and socializing!
Team members are encouraged to camp-out, but staying overnight is not required.
What if I cannot participate?
If you are unable to walk that day, there are many other ways you can help.
