Christina's Smile, Sonoma
October 14-16th, 2015
We are in need of assistants or hygienists who would like to participate with Christina's Smile on October 14, 15 and 16, 2015 in Sonoma, CA. The times are 8 AM - Noon and 1 PM - 5 PM. Volunteers may sign up for 1 shift or all day if they like. Various tasks we need help with are sterilization, processing x rays and helping keep the flow of the day going. It is a lot of fun and very rewarding for those who look for a way to give back to the community.
To give a little background information, Christina's Smile has a 53 foot semi that houses a 3 operatory clinic, allowing 3 dentists and their assistants to provide free dental treatment to underprivileged children who have little or no access to dental care. The clinic has state of the art equipment, and all supplies are provided for the volunteers. Children between the ages of 6 and 15 will be scheduled for a visit. There are 20 children seen each half day between the 3 dentists. The dental treatment that can be accomplished in the Clinic includes restorations, cosmetic dentistry, extractions, stainless steel crowns and sealants.
